Medicaid Managed Care News

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services announced this week that it has selected the Prepaid Health Plans that will participate in its new Medicaid Managed Care program. That initiative will begin implementation in November 2019 in several counties, including Wake, Durham, Chatham, and Johnston.

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina and UnitedHealthcare of North Carolina, Inc., were two of the four statewide providers selected. A regional contract was also awarded to a provided for several counties in the southern part of the state, including Mecklenburg and New Hanover counties.
