What Is Elder Law?
Updated: Apr 1, 2019
Legacy Law Services is the trade name for certain services provided by the Law Office of B. Tyler Brooks, PLLC, including services known as "elder law." But what is elder law anyway?
Generally speaking, elder law covers a wide range of potential legal needs -- wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other planning tools. There is no single "right way" for every individual to structure his or her financial and other affairs as the aging process progresses. Instead, an elder law attorney must look at all of your available property in light of your personal and family needs and then assist you in determining how best to obtain quality care as you age without depleting all of your assets so that you are left with nothing to pass on to future generations.
This blog will explore issues that come up in the area of elder law, including issues related to Medicaid planning, in addition to notable issues that arise in the areas of estate planning and probate law. We hope you will find it to be informative and useful.
